The Neighbourhood Plan

Plans to develop the Funtington Parish Neighbourhood Plan (NP) has, obviously, been delayed by Covid-19.

This page will be updated as and when the situation changes and will provide a 'one-stop shop' for all information relating to the NP.

For now, we thought a brief overview might be helpful:
What is neighbourhood planning?
Neighbourhood planning gives communities direct power to develop a shared vision for their neighbourhood and shape the development and growth of their local area. They are able to choose where they want new homes, shops and offices to be built, have their say on what those new buildings should look like and what infrastructure should be provided, and grant planning permission for the new buildings they want to see go ahead. Neighbourhood planning provides a powerful set of tools for local people to plan for the types of development to meet their community’s needs and where the ambition of the neighbourhood is aligned with the strategic needs and priorities of the wider local area.

All groups undertaking a NP are eligible to apply for up to £10,000.
Three types of grant funding are available:
• Basic grant funding
• Additional grant funding
• Affordable housing for sale grant funding

In addition to grant funding technical support is also available and can be requested in the same application
Technical support is delivered free of charge and includes professional support and advice on technical or process issues. It has no relation to how much grant a group can have.
