Kate Du Port lives in Funtington. She is keen to keep the Parish as a beautiful countryside area and to constantly make efforts to improve it for the benefit of all residents

Patricia Young

Pat moved from Petersfield to West Ashling in 2017, being attracted to the area because of the abundance of natural amenities on the doorstep. Born in Edinburgh, she has spent her career working based in London and the South East. She has two daughters, a grand- daughter and a very large dog.

Professionally she worked for international architects, a global risk management company and the NHS.

She is most interested in the environment and helping to promote and balance contemporary ideas with traditional values in all areas of the parish. As a Trustee of the West Ashling & Funtington District Hall she is involved with developing facilities and activities for the young and the elderly, to help prevent social isolation and working with the community shaping the future of the Parish.

Pat’s interests include sailing, gardening and aqua-aerobics and she attends photography, watercolour painting and theatre design classes in the local area


Jane Mottershead

Jane is West Sussex born and bred and has lived in West Ashling for 32 years, and works full time in Architecture and Project Management.

Jane has run The 1st Funtington and West Stoke Brownies for 25 years, and also holds roles within the Chichester Girl Guiding Division.

Jane is Chairman of West Ashling and Funtington District Hall, and as a Trustee, Jane’s aim is to raise sufficient funding to completely refurbish the village hall and to haul the building into the 21st Century, she firmly believes that the Village Hall should be the central hub of the Parish, and feels it should be owned, loved and enjoyed by all residents.

As a Parish Councillor in 1999, Jane headed the team that raised the money needed for the Parish playground, she also Chaired the teams who organised the Millennium Parish Party and the Queen’s Jubilee Parish Party, both events were held on the cricket ground, she was also part of the team on the Parish Council who carried out a Village Appraisal in 2004.

In 1987 Jane was responsible for getting mains gas brought into the village of West Ashling and for having duck warning signs erected either side of the pond.

Jane is passionate about the countryside and loves living in a small close knit community, she has two dogs and frequently walks the footpaths around the Parish.

Jane’s interest include aviation, architecture, gardening and cooking.

Barbara Roskell

By | Councillors .  Barbara Roskell has lived in the area most of her life and in West Ashling since 2003.  She has two children, three grandchildren and a dog.  Barbara is interested in helping the parish maintain its lovely countryside and in supporting its parishioners, whilst keeping up with modern life and its requirements.

Sheena King

Sheena has lived in West Stoke since 2001. She was elected Chair in December 2019, having been Councillor since October 2012.   In her time as a Councillor She has been a member of the Village Hall Liaison Working Group, the Website Working Group, is responsible for ensuring compliance with GDPR and for designing the 2018/19 parish survey. She spent her working life in the National Health Service both as a clinician and senior manager.



Sheena King

Sheena King has lived in West Stoke since 2001 and was co-opted to the Funtington Parish Council in October 2012. She is a member of the Website and the Village Hall Liaison Working Groups. She spent her working life in the National Health Service both as a clinician and senior manager.
