Funtington Parish Council

The Parish Council’s meetings have been postponed until further notice, including the Parish Council Meeting on 1 April and the Annual Parish Meeting on 29 April.

Decisions about future meetings will be made once we have received further guidance.

Residents are advised to check the Parish Council’s website for information on meetings as they may need to be rescheduled at short notice.

The Parish Council is following advice issued by the government, as well as:

The Parish Council is developing a Business Continuity Plan. This will be updated as the situation emerges and we receive more information.
Prevention matters gives information to local councils.

Decision making and transparency

Unlike companies and charitable trusts, town and parish councils cannot hold ‘virtual meetings’ i.e. those where councillors participate from afar; councillors must be ‘present and voting’ and the meeting can only make decisions if it is quorate (which means a minimum of three councillors present). The Parish Council would like to reassure residents that no decisions will be taken on issues in the Parish unless it is able to meet. What we do about meetings in 20/21 is dependent on received from the government – residents are advised to check our website and notice-boards for more information.
