Residents Groups

As many of you will now know, a new Residents Group has been established in West Ashling; a group having already been in place for some time East Ashling. The Parish Council is keen to actively encourage and support the formation of similar residents groups in Funtington and West Stoke. The groups could then, amongst other things, discuss and bring to the attention of the Council any projects that need to be undertaken in their specific areas of the Parish. Whilst, of course, it may not possible to fund all projects, this improved dialogue between the Residents Groups and the Parish Council has the potential to raise the issues that are important to the parishioners and where funds could be best used for the benefit of us all. Whilst it has been decided that Parish Councillors will not attend the Residents Groups, unless specifically requested to do so, each Group will have the opportunity to feedback to the Council at the monthly meetings and there will be a standing agenda item for this under the ‘Open Forum’, which takes place at the end of each meeting. If  you would like to set up a Residents Group in either Funtington or West Stoke and want to know more, please contact the Parish Clerk on
